The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global action plan to eradicate poverty, combat inequality, and address climate change by 2030. The goal is to create a better future by developing sustainable solutions across sectors. Our vision of combating social exclusion among young people and adults supports at least 8 of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. We put people first and strive to help them reach their full potential so that tomorrow's society becomes a better place for everyone.
At NGA, we fight poverty by strengthening individuals’ opportunities for personal growth and social mobility. We offer a holistic program that not only focuses on building self-confidence and a sense of mastery but also provides practical support in finding direction in life. Through guidance, mentorship programs, and close follow-up, we help participants find their way back to education or the workforce.
We offer solution-oriented empowerment programs developed in collaboration with the University of Stavanger and Helsinki. These programs are designed to help individuals overcome addiction, crime, and mental health challenges. By working on both internal thought patterns and external living conditions, we lay the foundation for lasting change. Participants experience improved quality of life, better health, and a new, positive outlook.
With support from mentors with lived experience and inspiration from like-minded individuals, participants experience increased confidence and a sense of mastery. This gives motivation to take initiative, set their own goals, and actively invest in their learning and development.
Everyone has the right to decent work, including those who face great challenges in life. By meeting people at eye level and focusing on their strengths, we provide them with the tools and opportunities necessary to take control of their development and become valuable contributors to society.
Improved education and better public health create opportunities for societal growth. At NGA, we emphasize strengths rather than weaknesses, encouraging participants to engage actively in creating positive societal change. Through collaboration with master’s students in transformation and innovation at the University of Stavanger, we explore innovative solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive future.
