Share what you know and inspire someone’s next step.

Do you have a skill, interest, or area of knowledge you’d like to share with someone who’s eager to learn? By sharing your know-how, you can open doors, spark ideas, and guide someone toward opportunities they might never have discovered alone.

Why Become a Mentor?

Mentoring is not about fixing someone’s life. It’s about sharing what you know and helping them take their next step. At NextGen Ambassadors, mentors help participants explore a topic, activity, or field they’re interested in. When you mentor, you

  • Pass on skills and knowledge in a topic you care about
  • Help someone grow their confidence and abilities
  • Introduce them to new opportunities in your field or hobby

And along the way, you gain something too: the satisfaction and meaning of seeing your expertise benefit someone else and the joy of helping another person to succeed.

Learn About The Process

Mentor Story: Meet Fredrik, 25 years old

"Being a mentor gives my life a deeper sense of meaning. It’s a privilege to walk alongside someone on their journey of change – to see a person who dares to dream, who is open and willing to work hard to realize their potential. As a mentor, I don’t need to have all the answers – my role is to listen, to believe in them, and to help them discover the strengths they already carry within. Watching someone grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and move closer to their dream is one of the most rewarding experiences I know. And in the end, it’s not only their journey that changes, it changes me too."

What Do Mentors Do?

In mentoring, the focus is on practical guidance and shared learning, whether that’s building a CV, learning a technical skill, starting a creative project, or understanding an industry.  As a mentor, you meet with your mentee regularly, maybe once a week to:

  • Teach or guide them in a specific skill or area of interest
  • Offer advice and tips based on your own experience in that field
  • Help them set achievable goals and take practical steps toward them

At NGA we offer you all the needed support to succeed as a mentor.

I Want To Start Mentoring

Ambassador Story: Meet Lissi, 18 years old

"When I first met my mentor, I was 16 and felt weighed down by everything that had been difficult in my life. But instead of focusing on my past or what was “wrong,” my mentor only cared about my strengths, my goals, and my dreams. He asked me a simple question: “What is your dream?”. I told him I wanted to use my life experience to help young people, to stand on a stage and share my story as a way to inspire others. Today, I am living my dream. I work with young people, I share my story as a speaker, and I get to be a role model – giving back and showing others that change is possible."
