When our elected representatives show up every day to make a difference, it is powerful to gather so many in the same room – to listen, learn, and engage in the public debate. This autumn at IMI Forum, over 400 people and 9 leading politicians came together to address one of the most pressing social challenges of our time.
What made the strongest impression was not only the political voices, but the courage of two 18-year-old who took the main stage and reminded us why this truly matters.
Lissi Marie Reitan shared her powerful story of growing up without fitting in, being bounced around in the system, and facing setback after setback – but also of finding a new start, a community, and real opportunities. To see her now stand tall, confident and strong, as a role model for others, gave hope to everyone in the room.

Lilly Bakkeli, together with her band Dolls N’ Needles, filled the room with original songs – turning experiences, thoughts, and emotions into music that touched hearts deeply. She closed with a guitar solo that was both raw and unforgettable.

It could not have been a more meaningful start to such an important debate.
A heartfelt thank you to the engaged politicians who joined us, to IMI Forum for excellent collaboration, and to everyone who attended. Months of planning and hard work were truly worth it. Special thanks also to Egil Elling Ellingsen for doing a fantastic job as host and moderator of the debate.
This is only the beginning. We look forward to the journey ahead – building a more inclusive society together, across politics, business, civil society, and the brave young voices who dare to stand up and speak.
